Led by the Professional Products Division, the initiative is a pioneer in Argentina and throughout Latin America.

The main objective of the program is to deepen L’Oréal’s sustainable actions along with its value chain, structured in three fundamental axes: transform the beauty business while respecting planetary limits, empower the business ecosystem by training suppliers and consumers , and contribute to solving global challenges.

Since its inception in November 2021, “Hairstylist For The Future” has engaged nine beauty salons in Argentina to jointly develop sustainable protocols. This collaboration has allowed L’Oréal to conduct research in key areas such as water consumption, energy consumption and waste generation.

Mariana Petrina, director of Corporate Affairs, Communication and Sustainability at L’Oréal Groupe Argentina, explained in conversation with Forbes Argentina that “the implementation of these new practices aims to reduce water consumption by 45%, the use of energy in 30% and recycle 100% of the waste generated in the salons”.

The program is free and has already been presented in more than 800 classrooms across the country through in-person classes and webinars. Petrina explained to said media that, for this year, the goal is for more than 100 professionals to be certified in at least one of the program’s axes.

One of the main strategies of the program is the training of professionals in the efficient use of water. L’Oréal will offer sustainable tools, such as shower heads that save up to 45% of water consumption, which will be complemented by training on more conscious habits in the use of products and services.

L’Oréal has established that by 2025, 100% of its operated sites will use renewable energy. At the end of 2023, it had already reached 91% globally, thus approaching its goal. The “Hairstylist For The Future” program has a federal scope in Argentina and has already trained about 200 salon professionals throughout the country.
