The company Air spoke again this Tuesday about the article published by the magazine Changemedia that reported “move” of the owner of the company, Alberto Ríos Velillato increase energy rates.
In its statement, the company denounces “disinformation campaign” and “procedural fraud” with complaint to the SIC.

Air-e lawyers Jaime Lombana and Mauricio Pava denounce both the deception of the SIC and the criminal disinformation campaign:
It is absolutely FALSE that Air-e has received any profit in the sale of energy mentioned in the complaint to the SIC. It was sold at the same price as it was purchased for the unregulated market, the supports are available to Super Servicios.
Fair prices: Air-e transfers to the end user a value of approximately $593/kWh, surpassed on the energy exchange for more than 1,400 hours in 2024. In ESSA-EPM AND ENEL, the prices were $690 and $699.8 respectively during the same period .
Transparent calls: In 2023, Air-e made three calls with identical requirements for guarantees, respecting free competition, just like CELSIA, EPM and ENEL do. No generator showed up. In 2022 and 2023, Air-e offered to buy 110,283 GWh, but only acquired 3% due to lack of offers, evidencing the refusal of generators to sell energy to the most vulnerable markets.
The national government is aware of Air-e’s efforts to reduce rates and counteract the oligopoly of generators that do not sell to vulnerable markets, preferring the speculative stock market. Air-e has sought regulated alternatives to prevent users from suffering from stock market volatility.
The Superintendency has been asked to clarify the false complaint spread in the media as part of the criminal disinformation campaign. The SIC and the Prosecutor’s Office will confirm that AIR-E GENERADOR SA ESP does not exist as a legal entity nor is it registered as a generating agent, the complaint involves the most basic of lies.
“It is no coincidence that ACOLGEN, the generators union, wrote a letter to the Minister of Mines and Energy 3 weeks ago where it mentioned energy sales from Air-e, with untrue statements, and criticized the situation of the energy market, when they have been themselves the causes. Now a complaint appears, without us being able to identify its author, but we are asking the justice system to identify him, to answer for the statements that are far from the truth and that are collected by a media outlet to cause damage to the company that has proposed solutions to the abuses of a dominant position in the energy market,” said one of the representatives, Jaime Lombana.
