Nine shots ended the life of Jesús David Contreras Durán, who would have arrived by trickery to the place where he was attacked.

On a night marked by violence in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander), the Aniversario II neighborhood mourned the loss of Jesus David Contreras Duran, known as “El Topo”, 27 years old, who was the victim of a brutal attack at the hands of hitmen. The community, shocked by what had happened, alerted the Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta (Mecuc), followed by the Interinstitutional Homicide Brigade (Brinho), who carried out the relevant procedures at the crime scene. Eight 9mm shell casings were found at the scene, evidence of the violent attack..

According to police sources, Contreras Durán was allegedly known in the area for his involvement in drug trafficking, operating mainly in the Santa Ana neighborhood and using Las Llantas Park as a sales point. This illegal activity would have been the motive behind the violent act, related to disputes over control of the territory.

A neighborhood resident lamented the situation, pointing out that the park, originally intended for family recreation, had been co-opted by illicit activities. She stated that Contreras Durán was well-known in the area, but he was not a street dweller, but rather his family had a fast food business.

Authorities are considering the hypothesis that the murder was planned, possibly due to a deceptive invitation that led the victim to the scene of the crime., where he was attacked without saying a word. This tragic incident highlights the security challenges facing the community, especially in areas affected by drug trafficking and street violence.
