Infodefensa attends the first course of Daniel Defense International University at the Savannah facilities

In the civilian sector, Daniel Defense currently accounts for 17% of commercial rifle sales AR-15 from the United States, producing more than 100 thousand units in 2022 (for civil, police and military users).

Among the latest developments in the firm’s military market, the recent sale of 5,000 rifles to Ukraine under a program of the Department of State from the United States, units that are already in production.

Likewise, Daniel Defense won a contract for the development and supply of rifles with a new and innovative manual gas selection system, based on a particular requirement for Norway’s special forces. As part of this educational process offered by Daniel Defense, we toured the factory, with stops at each strategic point of the production of its weapons, detailing the particular processes that separate Daniel Defense from its competition, particularly its free-floating cold-hammered pipes. and the exclusive design of its handguard systems, particularly the RIS II and RIS IIIwhich were originally selected by North American special forces and have now expanded to a multitude of countries.

It is important to highlight that a good part of the construction process of the weapons produced in this plant are automated, with a significant presence of robots that guarantee standardization in their production, consistently maintaining the highest levels of quality.

The next phase of the course involves a gunsmith class, teaching the complete operation of the weapon, its disassembly, rearming and maintenance requirements. Repair scenarios or potential failures with their corresponding solutions are also presented. By the end of this portion of the course, students should be comfortable with completely disassembling and reassembling a Daniel Defense rifle. Mk18 or similar.
