In any case, Rodrigo de Gusmao, president of Claro Colombia, celebrated that the company marks “a new milestone in telecommunications by being the first to use 5G speed to connect broadband internet to Colombian homes.”
He specified that although it will start in Medellín, soon It will be expanded to Bogotá, Cali, Bucaramanga, Cartagena, Barranquilla and 14 other cities.
According to Claro, this fixed wireless internet service or FWA, offers wireless internet connectivity over the 5G mobile network, allowing up to 10 devices to be connected at home, without requiring wiring or installation by a technician.
Bogotá, Cali, Medellín, Barranquilla, Cartagena and Bucaramanga are the first cities to have the 5G service of that operator in Colombia, but it will gradually reach 20 in the coming months.
