The Kia EV9 is in a class of its own because it is unrivaled for practicality at this price in the electric SUV class. You see, if you want to go all-electric and need to transport seven people comfortably, your options are decidedly limited.

It arrived in Colombia with a single version, it is the GT LINE and it sells for around $400 million pesos, Currently available for COP $389,990,000.

Kia EV9, one of a kind

The heaviest all-wheel drive model arrived in the country, reaching a maximum of 500 kilometers of autonomy.

The EV9 adds a second motor to the front axle for much more power and with 378 hp engine with acceleration from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds. It’s quick by any standard and you feel it, as the car deploys its power instantly, pinning occupants to their seats.

However, this is a huge SUV with a relatively soft suspension, so if you make use of the EV9’s power, there’s plenty of movement. The car’s nose rises during hard acceleration before falling back toward the ground when you hit the brakes.

The body also leans quite a bit when cornering, but at least the EV9 doesn’t sway violently when changing direction. After all, this is a practical family SUV, so driving the EV9 at a moderate pace seems appropriate.

The light steering is helpful when maneuvering at low speeds, and switching to Sport mode adds a little more weight to make it feel more precise.

A large family-friendly electric SUV

Aside from a bit of wind noise (no doubt generated by its boxy silhouette), the EV9 is quiet on highways and barely disturbs you or its occupants.

Kia interiors have gotten better and better over the years and we’ll go so far as to say that the EV9 is the brand’s best effort yet.

The driver has a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel at his disposal.s, which is clear and located high enough to obviate the need for a head-up display.

Aside from its looks, the Kia EV9’s biggest draw is how big and practical it is. In fact, no other all-electric SUV comes close.

So yes, the EV9 is expensive, but it has unique appeal right now, and to help offset the price, it comes very well equipped.
