Worldcoin’s World ID is ready to expand into the ecosystem of Solariumafter Wormhole Labs received approximately $70,000 in financing from the Worldcoin Foundation.

Worldcoin, Sam Altman’s project, It was the sensation last summer, as the co-founder of the project he claimed that people were signing up on average every eight seconds. In an attempt to bring the project back into the public consciousness, the Worldcoin Foundation launched a grant program, which set aside over $830,000 worth of WLD tokens to fund projects.

One such project is the Wormhole cross-chain protocol, which intends to bring the Worldcoin Global ID to the Solana blockchain.

Wormhole helps transfer data and assets across more than 30 blockchains, including Solana, Ethereum, and Binance Smart Chain. This latest move will bring the Worldcoin World ID, originally built on Ethereum and on the Optimism layer 2 scaling network, to Solana.

World ID is the core technology of the Worldcoin project. By scanning your eye using one of the Worldcoin Orbs, you are provided with an IrisCode, which is then used to generate a World ID. This process is done to demonstrate your “humanity” and eliminate the possibility that you are a robot, in response to rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI).

Once you have proven that you are a real person, you can use the World app. This allows users to reveal information about themselves while remaining private through the platform’s ID system. Additionally, the World app functions as a cryptocurrency wallet, allowing users to store Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDC.

The Company stated that more than 2 million people signed up for the project, attracting regulatory investigations from several nations. For example, France and Germany coordinated a research on legality of the project, while Kenya banned completely.

Wormhole now aims enable Solana-based protocols to verify global user IDs that were originally verified on Ethereum. To make this happen, a new Solana smart contract will leverage Wormhole Queries, a cross-chain data retrieval service.

The announcement came on the same day that the first public attempt to launch a Solana ETF in the US was made. VanEck filed a Solana ETF Application in the US on Thursday, prompting the token price will increase by 6.6% In an hour.
