Mexico City, Jun 28 (.).- The Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) gained 0.25% on Friday in its main indicator, which stood at 52,440.02 units, reversing two consecutive falls and closing the week with a 0.66% decline and 5% in the month.

With the weekly drop that was noted, the Mexican Stock Market reversed the previous weekly advance and recorded its sixth weekly decline in the last seven weeks.

Meanwhile, the negative closing of the month is the third consecutive since the gain that the CPI recorded in March.

Enrique Covarrubias, director of economic analysis at the financial group Actinver, said that the main indicator of the Mexican stock market “has broken away from the negative trend of its American peers.”

“With this movement, the index ended June with a decline of -5%,” he added.

Furthermore, with the daily decline, the index is positioned 10.7% away from its historical maximum of 58,711.87 points.

During the day, the peso appreciated 0.67% against the dollar, trading at 18.29 units per greenback, after being valued at 18.41, according to data from the Bank of Mexico.

The IPC closed the session at 52,440.02 units, with a loss of 129.06 points and a positive variation of 0.25% compared to the previous day.

The volume traded in the market reached 288.8 million securities for an amount of 18,245.6 million pesos (about 930.9 million euros).

Of the 570 companies listed on the day, 257 closed with higher prices, 285 had losses and 30 closed unchanged.

The securities with the greatest upward variation were from the company Value Grupo Financiero (VALUEGF O), with 4.99%; from the Saltillo Industrial Group (GISSA A), with 4.75%; and the chemical products marketer Grupo Pochteca (POCHTEC B), with 3.51%.

In contrast, the largest downward variations were in the household products company Grupo Vasconia (VASCONI), with -4.68%; the insurance company Qualitas (Q); with -4% and XXX (LA.ER UBC), with -3.2%.

On the day, three of the four sectors lost, led by the industrial sector (-0.57%), followed by the financial sector (0.26%) and frequent consumption (-0.12%), while materials gained ( 0.35%).
