(CNN) — Emerging country artist Tiera Kennedy shared with the world her reaction to hearing her voice for the first time on Beyoncé’s song “Blackbiird,” a Beatles cover included on her new album “Cowboy Carter.”

“Listening to ‘Blackbiird’ for the first time! I’m crying again watching this again,” Kennedy wrote in the caption of a video posted to her TikTok page on Saturday.

In the video, Kennedy appears to immediately become excited upon hearing her vocals on the track. “I can hear it!” she says as she covers her face with her hands and asks her friend to turn up the volume on her. Between tears – and laughter of joy – Kennedy gapes, swaying back and forth to the song in disbelief.

“I can’t believe it. It’s my voice,” he exclaims. “It’s crazy. I could listen to it over and over again.”

Originally written by Paul McCartney in 1968, at the height of the civil rights movement in the United States, “Blackbird” is inspired by the Little Rock Nine, a group of black students who were the first to desegregate schools and break the color barrier in the late 1950s in Arkansas.

The powerful meaning of the original song adds to the emotional depth of Beyoncé’s 2024 version, amplified by the voices of Kennedy and three other up-and-coming Black country artists — Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer and Reyna Roberts — who appear on the topic.

“I’ve been in Nashville for almost eight years chasing this dream of country music. There have been a lot of ups and downs along the way and this, being on Beyoncé’s album, takes the top prize,” Kennedy wrote in the caption of another video posted on his TikTok page on Saturday.

“I couldn’t be more grateful,” she continued. “Thank you Beyoncé for shining your light.”
