Criminal structure dismantled for cocaine base trafficking at home in Coquimbo

In the eastern sector of Coquimbo, in a home in Rinconada El Sauce, a criminal structure operated that, through various suppliers from abroad, supplied themselves with illicit substances, which they bulked with other chemical elements and then dosed for sale in the zone.

This was established by the investigation between the detectives of the Anti-Narcotics and Organized Crime Brigade of the PDI La Serena in conjunction with the Focos Prosecutor’s Office, who carried out the investigation for several weeks, identifying the accused and establishing the crime of drug trafficking. in a clandestine and artisanal laboratory.

“The work of the detectives of this specialized unit with the Public Ministry made it possible to dismantle this criminal structure dedicated to the acquisition of cocaine base, through several suppliers who sent the illegal substance from abroad. The investigation established that three men and a woman participated in the process of collecting the drug, to mix it with other chemical substances in a property located in the Rinconada El Sauce sector, in Coquimbo, and then marketed the drug among drug traffickers. same commune,” said Subprefect Miguel Cabezas, head of the La Serena Anti-Narcotics and Anti-Organized Crime Brigade.

In the procedure, the detectives seized 3 kilos 383 grams of cocaine base, dosed and in bulk, valued at 68 million pesos and representing more than 33 thousand doses. Among the evidence, cannabis was also seized in flowered units, in bulk, and more than 600 thousand pesos in cash, among other elements of criminalistic interest.

“We managed to establish the participation of this criminal organization and developed Operation Mediterranean II to intervene at the home. Within the procedure, two defendants were placed under detention control and with the arguments raised, the court agreed to preventive detention,” said Freddy Salinas, Prosecutor of the Criminal Analysis and Investigative Focus System.
