The artist never wanted to implicate her nephew in the media and was cautious when it came to waiting for what justice would decide. For his part, Antonio Tejado exposed his innocence and pointed out that he had nothing to do with the robbery, since he would never do something like that to his aunt. Almost two months later, ‘De Friday’ publishes the statement of María del Monte and Inmaculada Casal in the trial.
