“Get ready,” reads the Instagram announcement from Gunn, who is director and screenwriter of Superman: Legacyla new version that deals with the popular journalist and undercover superhero Clark Kent which is part of the “reboot” of the DC Comics universe.

In the image shared by Gunn Superman is seen sitting in an armchair wearing the characteristic blue, red and yellow suit with an ‘S’ in the middle, while he finishes putting on some red boots.

Unlike the suits worn by actors such as Christopher Reeve and Henry Cavill, the last actor to play him before Corenswet, the one proposed by Gunn shows a darker and rougher version than the impeccable and elegant clothing with which the also nicknamed is remembered. ‘Iron Man’.

Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, confirmed Corenswet as the new lead in June 2023, shortly before the Hollywood actors’ strike began.

Other performers who will be part of the film that is currently being filmed are Rachel Brosnahan, who will be the new Lois Lane, a reporter for the Daily Planet and Kent’s main love interest in fiction, and Nicholas Holt, in the role of the villain Lex Luthor.

The film is being produced by Peter Safran, co-director of the studio along with Gunn, and is part of the project Gods and Monsters with which DC Studios intends to reboot the DC Comics universe, after a series of box office failures such as Black Adam and Shazam!.
