In an interview with Nicole Kidman for the Vanity Fair portal, the star of Walk The Line confirmed that his name is not Reese when talking about his co-star from Big Little Lies, Laura Dern.

When Witherspoon referred to the star of jurassic park as ‘Dern’, Kidman replied: “I hate how you call her Dern”, saying that “it sounds weird”.
“I’ll tell you why,” Witherspoon responded. “Because my name is Laura, and her name is Laura and it’s confusing to me. “My real name is Laura Jeanne.”.
Kidman seemed momentarily taken aback by the news, before saying, “That’s it! “Then you call her Dern.”
