Alec Baldwin faces a new lawsuit from the family of the director of photography Halyna Hutchinsdied after being shot by the American actor on the filming set of the film ‘Rust’ in 2021.

“Yesterday we filed a civil lawsuit in the First Judicial District of New Mexico (USA) for Santa Fe County related to the death on October 21, 2021 of Halyna Hutchins, director of photography for ‘Rust'”Hutchins’ family lawyer, Gloria Allred, said in a statement this Thursday.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the family and Mamie Mitchellscript supervisor of the film and witness to what happened.

The family is seeking punitive damages, compensatory damages, damages for emotional distress, civil penalties and reimbursement of attorneys’ fees.

Baldwin faces a possible sentence of 18 months in prison and a fine of thousands of dollars if convicted in a trial scheduled to begin July 9 in Santa Fe, New Mexico (USA).
