Barcelona (EFE).- The fashion brand Desigual has celebrated with a parade facing the sea in Barcelona, the city of origin of the textile house, its four decades of legacy in informal fashion design, with the originality of shapes and textures and the color as flagships.
On a walkway of more than 100 meters, on a breakwater in the port of Barcelona with dozens of mirrors that multiplied the golden light of the Mediterranean horizon, the firm has taken a trip through its past and has presented the new proposal ‘Reflections’, which signed by creative director Helena Tejedor.
Inspired precisely by summer sunsets and the Mare Nostrum, the spring summer 2025 collection has focused on the “freshness” DNA of the brand, with fashion that aims to be comfortable and versatile “but with a lot of attitude.”

Fashion for people and not just bodies

The history of the Catalan brand began in 1984, under the vision of Thomas Meyer, who wanted to “create fashion for people, not for bodies” and who opened a store in Ibiza with the new pieces. Desigual always attracted attention for its colors, distinctive shapes and campaigns that invited rebellion. Throughout these years of commercial expansion around the world – there are already more than 200 stores – they have collaborated with artists such as M. Christian Lacroix, Stella Jean, Tyler McGillivary, Alphonse Maitrepierre or Collina Strada.

More than 350 guests

The anniversary parade, with a soundtrack by John Talabot, was attended by more than 350 people, including celebrities, international press, content creators and fashion and cultural personalities.among them the actress and singer Paris Jackson, daughter of the ‘king of pop’, Michael Jackson, the actresses Ester Expósito and Greta Fernánez or the models Amelia Gray and Hari Nef.

Before the parade, the founder Thomas Meyer himself highlighted to the media: “Joy, creativity and innovation are the common denominator in the history that unites us with Barcelona. Today we want to write a new chapter for the brand with this event that celebrates our heritage, our future and the bond that we share so deeply.” For his part, the president of the Port of Barcelona, Lluís Salvadó, pointed out that “given the origins of the brand, holding the parade by the sea seems the most natural choice, and the port of Barcelona is the home of Desigual and an area that the company has helped revitalize in recent years.”
