A drama unites Nicolás and Ludwika in the cinema

Guadalajara.—Nicolas Haza He says it without a problem: when he was a teenager, the last thing he thought about was being an actor, so as not to do the same thing his parents did. Ludwika Paleta and Plutarco Haza.

“He was very rebellious and always did the opposite of what they would do,” says the 23-year-old.

Ludwika, meanwhile, comments that she did not think about her firstborn as someone who was in front of the camera, in addition to the fact that he always showed a preference for music.

“It never occurred to me, because I am also someone who thinks that to be on a stage or a set, you must do it seriously. I never did anything to put it in or talk to a producer to call him,” the actress emphasizes.

But two years ago the perfect storm occurred so that, with the help of the director Sofía Gómez Córdova (The Blue Years), both of them came together in the film titled After, which is part of the international Film Festival that takes place in this city, whose premiere took place on Monday.

The curious? In this drama they both play a mother and her son, replicating the roles they have in real life. The difference is that in the story, Ludwika’s character mourns the death of her little one, whom she will gradually discover. true personality through ex-partners.

What they both experienced is something rare in the world of global audiovisuals. There are few who in fiction play the parents of their real children, some examples being the Spanish Ángela Molina and Olivia Molina in the series The fence, Timothy Carlton, Wanda Ventham and Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock and Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus in Hanna Mountain.

“More than feeling like a peacock (because of pride), I was as if I was waiting and quite judgmental in a sense of: ‘here you are no one’s son.’ In other words, here you are going to pay a flat rate like anyone else, like anyone who starts a film,” says Ludwika.

“With Nicolás I have always been very hard, I have always demanded too much from him and he has a more complex situation than other children because he has two acting parents and it is not easy”, external.

But the complicated thing for the actress of I don’t know whether to cut my veins or leave them long and Wedding night It was the first time he read the script, a sexenniumbecause it was about interpreting the biggest fear that a mother can face, which is losing her child.

“I have always liked to tell those stories where I can for a moment experience or enter the life of someone who is going through a complex situation, but when I first read the script I didn’t know if I could actually get close and feel that, maybe not. It was my moment,” says Ludwika.

Work colleagues

Nicolás, who comments that even as a child he never played roles despite living with his parents and their jobs, entered the filming when the director herself thought it was a possibility.

And he cast him accordingly, because even with the blood relationship, that could not be reflected on the screen.

“What my mother and I did was separate our personal lives and on the set we were co-workers, we didn’t cross that line. At night, like with any colleague, we would go to dinner, but not to talk about work,” explains Haza.

After appearing at the Guadalajara International Film FestivalThen it will begin a festival tour to reach commercial theaters next year.
