The singer presented the concert full of people that she performed the day before for the Universal Music Festival Madrid at the Albéniz Theater in Madrid. In fact, the most embarrassing moment of the interview for the singer occurred when Motos wanted to know the anecdote that unites her with King Felipe VI. One day her sister and her came home from school, and her mother told them to get ready because they had to go deliver some t-shirts to the princesses and the prince.
“I was very angry because I hadn’t had time to get my hair straight. I want to be beautiful to see to our prince, who is from a story: blonde with blue eyes. I wanted to be the most modern,” explains the artist. Some events that gave way to a picture in which she is seen with only 12 of her giving a t-shirt to Don Felipe.
However, the most curious thing is that the singer dared to remind Her Majesty of the moment again 40 years later. “I met him at the Copa del Rey in Seville and after a cocktail I approached him to talk. I told him: Your Majesty, I want to show you something very curious.” Sánchez took out her phone and showed her the image in which they were both 12 and 11 years old. All that came out to Felipe VI was “wow, how young people” and he focused a lot on himself. Something that the singer was grateful for, since she was not very happy with her look.
Pablo Motos has put his finger on the wound and asked if he knew Don Felipe’s secret: “Do you know that the king had a poster of you in his room?”, to which the artist responded that it was just a rumor. Although in a few moments has started to blush. At that moment, Motos wanted to know if at any point he considered “taking the piss” on the king. Sánchez has not answered the question.
What is clear is that the woman from Madrid is very good at institutional events. The program’s ants attended an event at the United States Embassy in the Spanish capital some time ago. There, they acted, in a certain way, as masters of ceremony and after inviting one of the American soldiers who were there to sing the anthem, they could not think of any other idea that would also convince Marta Sánchez to present “his version of the Spanish Anthem.”
“The soldier sang a US anthem and Glen Close got up to sing it, it was very emotional. I told the ambassador: as you know, the Spanish anthem does not have lyrics, but a very special person put lyrics to it and it is present here,” Barrancas recalled. In this way, Marta Sánchez ended up singing her version in front of Glen Close and all the guests at the gala.
