The Chamber of Deputies approved and converted into law this morning, after 13 hours of session, the Law of Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of Argentines promoted by the Government of Javier Milei.
The vote ended with 147 votes in favor, 107 against and two abstentions.
The La Libertad Avanza initiative was supported by the PRO, the bulk of the UCR, most of the We Make the Federal Coalition, the Federal Innovation, the Civic Coalition and other minority forces.
The Union for the Fatherland bloc, the Left Front and the two socialist deputies from Santa Fe voted against.
In addition, the lower house approved the replacement of the fourth category of the Income tax.
This chapter, which requires taxing salary income exceeding 1,800,000 pesos again, was approved with 136 positive votes, 116 negative votes and three abstentions.
Until a few hours before the vote, the ruling party had doubts that it would get at least half plus one of the votes of the deputies present, but the dialogue blocs adjusted the pegs and contributed the will that was missing to complete the number.
The restitution of profits is part of the law on Fiscal, Palliative and Relevant Measures.
Meanwhile, the Government also obtained in Deputies the reduction of the Personal Property Tax
This morning the ruling party obtained the final sanction of the reform of the Personal Property Tax, which reduces the rates of this tax.
The initiative garnered 134 affirmative votes, 118 negative votes and three abstentions.
The fiscal package, which includes, among other points, money laundering, a monotax reform and a tax moratorium, was validated with 144 positive votes, 108 negative votes and three abstentions.
Previously, the Government had celebrated the final approval of the Law of Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of Argentines.
