This Wednesday the news of the death of the legendary entertainer César González, the “friend of everyone,” due to natural causes, at the age of 93, in Dallas, Texas, United States, was known.

The information was made known on social networks by his close friends, who confirmed that González at the time of his departure was surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

The icon of animation and television in Venezuela was born on May 11, 1933, in La Victoria, Aragua State. He was well known on Venezuelan television for his charisma and great sympathy with the public.

His career began on Venevisión, hosting the program Sábado Sensacional alongside Amador Bendayán. He was a pioneer of the famous “Sensational Invasion” contest.

He continued his career on Sábado Sensacional, already when it was hosted by Gilberto Correa and together with Conde del Guácharo he animated the Saturday contest section.

The “friend of everyone” also had a pleasant participation in commercials for large companies such as “Depoven” or “Imgeve,” of which he became the main character of the brand even in its printed advertisements.

González was also a figure in several lotteries such as Zulia with the “Loto Quiz”, where he shared work with the entertainer and actress Chiquinquirá Delgado and Albani Lozada, and although the program was a success, he lasted a very short time as an entertainer.

Later, he was hired by the Táchira Lottery to host the “El Kino” draw, with actress Carolina Cristancho.

The last appearance on television was in the Venevisión Christmas spot in 2000.
