In a publicly distributed letter they announced that “Benefits have been suspended for the 600,000 members of the provincial social work since last week.”
The health entities stated that given the pressing economic situation that the clinics and sanatoriums are experiencing, with an accumulated inflation in the first quarter of the current year of 51.6 percent and greater than 70 percent in the index of supplies and medicines, “it merits an immediate response from the Iapos authorities to guarantee the continuity of the medical benefits of the affiliates, and for the sustainability of the institutions and medical work.”
They clarified that “the fees paid by Iapos for the care of patients from other departments served by our institutions have not increased from December 2023 to date, and we all know and suffer from the economic adjustments and inflation during this first quarter.”
