The young woman, a graduate of the National University of the South (UNS) and current resident at the Municipal Hospital, stressed that this event had never had the participation of representatives from Bahía Blanca.

“People from all over the world come. Initially, 16 showed up from Argentina and from there there were 8 left. I was the only one from Bahia,” she revealed.

Likewise, he described what the dynamics of the meeting will be like. “There are different presentation modalities, including clinical cases. ‘Young talents’—as they call them—are selected, who are still in the process of medical training. In addition, there is a jury that evaluates and discusses the cases,” he detailed.

Along these lines, he advanced the clinical case that he will present and which is based on the experience of an HIV positive patient who was treated in the hospital last year.

“I can’t give her name, but she was a patient who had a fairly serious viral infection and caused massive digestive bleeding. Thanks to the treatment, she managed to recover and be discharged. The interesting thing about the case is that it is not very common. what happened to him; in the bibliography there are few written cases and, those that exist, have had serious complications and have died,” he shared.

The young doctor admitted to feeling excited about this new experience. “It’s the first time I’ve traveled and gone to an airport alone, but I feel very good. As a child they always made me study English, although I’m still nervous and anxious,” she said.

She also mentioned that she financed her trip on her own, but is open to receiving collaborations through her Mercado Pago alias: manuela.delgado.
