During the morning of this Friday, the leadership of the Medical College met with representatives of the Association of Argentine Health Workers (ATSA) at the Undersecretariat of Labor. There, the salary debt was discussed and the health entity promised to ask the Government for help to resolve the situation. At the same time, they do not rule out selling or renting the Comprehensive Center for Women and Children (Cimyn).

confirmed it to HUARPE DIARY the vice president of the organization that brings together the doctors of San Juan, Pablo Flores, who stated that during the meeting they again explained the critical situation of the sector; “Private health is very compromised, that’s why we went to an intermediate room to see if next week we can have a favorable response.”

In that sense, he explained that they are going to meet with the provincial government authorities to see how “they can lend a hand” and, if they have good news, they would begin to regularize pending payments to employees.

Otherwise, Flores was categorical in assuring that if the situation does not change, they will not be able to face the corresponding increases and they will not stop paying salaries in installments. “We have lost subsidies that were key to paying salaries, and we are not being able to face the problem,” he stated.

According to him, the salary debt corresponding to the first three months of the year amounts to $250 million. Given this information, he was asked about the possible possibility of selling or renting the Cimyn, and he expressed: “That option is never ruled out, nothing is defined yet. What we want is for it to continue to be a sanatorium of excellence.”
