In less than a week, as Jorge Humberto Rueda, regional director of the Institute of Legal Medicine of Bucaramanga, had stated, the body of the 8-year-old girl who died violently in a wooded area of Girón was delivered last year. of May.

The minor’s mother, Kelly Johana Materán Rivero, accompanied by other relatives received the coffin on the afternoon of this Sunday, May 5, at the morgue in the Campo Hermoso neighborhood.

A blue carriage from the Coorserpark – Capilla La Fe funeral home entered the place and was in charge of receiving the small body and carrying out the procedures for the funeral.

The parent, present in Forensic Medicine, told Vanguardia that for now she wants to bury her daughter and remain silent.

However, lawyer Víctor Colmenares, representative of the 8-year-old girl’s family, assured that the identification process was quick and her burial will continue in Girón.

“The DNA tests have already arrived and based on that the relationship between the girl and her mother has already been established. Her body was delivered to the funeral home for the pertinent procedures and to provide her with a Christian burial,” the lawyer said.

The funeral services will be held at the La Aurora Funerary and the details of the time of the requiem mass and the subsequent burial are being established, which will be in the Monguí de Girón Cemetery.

The lawyer also assured that at the moment they are unaware of the forensic opinion of the causes of the minor’s death and if there was any violation.

“It is a matter of investigation. For now, we thank those who helped us speed up this process and we hope to soon learn more details to clarify the little girl’s death,” Colmenares said.

Although the little girl’s mother had expressed her intention to take her to Venezuela, by decision of the Colombian justice system the body will remain in Colombia, in this case in one of the holy fields of Girón.

The regional director of Legal Medicine, Jorge Humberto Rueda, had also stated that the girl’s body should remain in the country.

One of the reasons for not being able to take the body is that the alleged murderer, Alirio Gualdrón Rojas, 59 years old, has not accepted that he murdered her and other technical expertise will be required on the little girl’s corpse to clarify the facts.

Gualdrón Rojas remains in prison after a Guarantee Control Judge charged him with the crime of aggravated forced disappearance as allegedly responsible for the abduction and subsequent death of a minor under 8 years old, which occurred in Girón.

What also remains to be determined are the causes of his death and whether there was violent sexual intercourse.

“What we know so far is that the minor’s body shows trauma. The final opinion will be issued by the expert and sent to the Attorney General’s Office,” the official added.

The blows, both to the head and one of them with an open wound, would point to a homicide as has been suspected since the day the minor was found in the vicinity of the Girón Metroline Station, on May 1.
