Like many young people from the provincial interior, Mauricio Fernández abandoned his native Sampacho at the beginning of the millennium to pursue their dreams. He wanted to study medicine at National University of Córdoba (UNC).
He arrived in the Capital in 2001, in the midst of an economic and social crisis in Argentina. His initial plans became complicated and due to life circumstances he had to give up.

At 26 years old he decided to resume his studies to become a doctor. Today, after years of sacrifice, combining work, study and family, he managed to take the last subject and obtain his long-awaited degree.
Out of excitement, he approached her cell phone. The Lizard Show (El Doce), located in the Center of the city of Córdoba, to inform his mother and those affected about the news.
“I got an 8 and I’m a doctor,” said the man, visibly moved.
After a conversation with the driver, a live call surprised him. Adriana, her mother, found out about her son’s achievement and burst into tears with emotion.
Mauricio works at the Aráoz pharmacy, located on Camino a 60 Cuadras. He thanked them for their support in all these years of study.
Furthermore, he maintained that he did all this “for his two children.” And he highlighted a gesture that surprised his mother. Since Mauricio lost his father when he was very little, he decided to include his mother’s last name in his identity document so that when he applies for his diploma as a doctor, that last name can appear as well. .
