The Medical Commission and Anti-Doping Unit presents its Medical and Anti-Doping Report of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Futsal 2024, which took place in the city of Buenos Aires – Argentina, from May 19 to 26, 2024, with the participation of 12 clubs belonging to the Associations Member of CONMEBOL.
The purpose of this report is to present a summary of the injuries suffered by athletes during the competition, a monitoring of the temperature at the tournament venues, the educational talks carried out with all participating teams and the anti-doping controls.
In the CONMEBOL Libertadores Futsal 2024, a total of 5 injuries suffered by athletes were recorded, of which two sprains, a muscle injury, a wound and a fracture stand out.
In addition, temperature monitoring was carried out at the competition venues before and after to protect the integrity of the footballers.
For its part, the Anti-Doping Unit held educational talks with the twelve clubs that competed in the tournament, totaling 250 people including players and the teams’ coaching staff.
A total of 168 urine samples were collected during the competition, in order to carry out the corresponding controls in all the matches played, of which 81% were controls by draw and 19% were directed.
The medical team was made up of Dr. Dante Villani as Medical Coordinator, Dr. Felipe Jaramillo and Dr. Federico Gorria as Medical Officers.
