The Degree in Medicine from the CEU Cardenal Herrera University (CEU UCH) has been awarded the Aneca International Quality Seal (SIC) in accordance with the quality standards of the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME).

This international recognition opens the doors of the labor market of the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to graduates in Medicine from the CEU UCH. This seal is an essential requirement for medical students who wish to pursue a specialty in Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Likewise, to practice medicine in the US it is necessary to graduate from a center accredited by the WFME, the academic institution highlights in a statement.

The World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) was born in 1972 with the objective of agreeing on principles and norms to guarantee quality standards in medical education. Recently, this international organization promoted a global recognition program for the accreditation of basic medical education and the training of doctors, through the granting of the international quality seal (SIC), managed by ANECA.

“The achievement of this seal endorses the international dimension and excellence in the training of CEU UCH Medicine graduates, joining initiatives such as the first Clinical Practice Program in the US, in progress since the last academic year,” says the dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Verónica Veses.

CLINICAL PRACTICES

This Clinical Practice program in the United States is a pioneering initiative in Spain, which has allowed medical students from the CEU UCH, from its campuses in Castellón and Valencia, perform internship rotations in prestigious hospitals and health centers in Chicago and New York.

The dean recalls that the Degree in Medicine at the CEU UCH “stands out for the quality of the training, as well as the robustness of the Internal Quality Assurance System, which is also certified by the Aneca International Audit program.”

“The Aneca International Audit recognizes that the Faculty meets the quality criteria defined both at the national and European level,” stressed Verónica Veses.

Finally, the dean wanted to thank students, professors, and administration and service staff for their collaboration in achieving Aneca’s new International Quality Seal (SIC) in accordance with the standards of the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME).
