Latino arrested overnight inside Family Dollar in Burlington

He said that on Wednesday, June 26 at approximately 1:14 a.m., officers from the Department responded to the Family Dollar store, located at 908 East Webb Ave, in reference to a commercial alarm.

Upon arrival, officers found a man inside, whom they later identified as Hugo Calderón Chávez, described.

He said that in addition to a broken front door, damage was reported to merchandise and inside the Family Dollar.

Through investigation, it was discovered that the young man had left the store, but returned.

The young Latino man was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering of a business and damage to real property.

Calderon Chavez is being held at the Alamance County Detention Center without bond.

The Burlington Police Department is seeking additional information regarding this case of burglary by the young Latino.
