The municipality of Almirante Brown launched the Telemedicine program that will allow residents to implement a new channel for providing medical consultations virtually. He service is free and its objective is to prevent saturation and decongest the district’s guard service.

In a similar way to the pediatric telemedicine programs applied in districts such as Lanús and Quilmes, the Brownian project reaches both pediatric consultations for children up to 14 years old and clinical consultations for those aged 15 years and older.

This proposal helps in parallel to decompress on-call services in Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS) and provincial public hospitals, since the Telemedicine program is designed to receive clinical consultations and also linked to pediatric consultations.

Consultations can be made 24 hours a day.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week

The municipal initiative seeks to make online consultations free of charge and from the comfort of home through a video call with a clinician or pediatrician, manage digital prescriptions, request medical orders, certificates and share documents.

How does it work?

To be able to access medical consultations online, residents can do so from the municipality’s page almirantebrown.gov.ar/telemedicina or through the municipal application Brown Prevents in the Telemedicine option located on the main screen.

Once the steps have been completed, the user will be able to access the tab that says start video call. There you will be asked to specify whether the consultation is for an individual or for a minor child. In the latter case, a record must be made for the minor and associated with the family group, all within the same application.

In a matter of seconds you will be attended to by video call by a clinical doctor or a pediatrician with whom they will have a medical consultation,” they said from the municipality.

Telemedicine allows you to obtain a medical diagnosis, maintain ongoing treatment and avoid self-medication.

Certificates and documents

When asked how it will be possible to access medical certificates or prescriptions, it was explained that the attending doctor will have 3 ways of contacting the patient to send them the corresponding documentation.

The first instance of documents as well as the consultation record will be loaded in the “view documents” section on the screen where the teleconsultation will be made. The second means of contact is an email where the video call session ends, you will receive all the documents, instructions, digitalized medical prescriptions or study orders. Finally, the third way of contact is through the number previously registered in the application, where you will receive a WhatsApp with all the documents you have requested or if the doctor needs to contact you again, you can do so by that means.

It is important to remember that virtual consultations should not be carried out when the patient has severe pain or pressure in the chest, hemorrhage or bleeding, loss of consciousness, burns, poisoning, seizures, difficulty breathing, fractures or serious head injuries. , neck or back. In these cases, they recommend calling 107 AB immediately.

“At Almirante Brown we continue to add important services for our people. In this case, incorporating Telemedicine so that they can make medical consultations online and enhance the possibilities of access,” said Mayor Mariano Cascallares.
