After the meeting between Mayor Matzkin and local Health authorities, with representatives from the Higher School of Medicine of the National University of Mar del Plata, everything would be on track for the signing of an agreement that would allow students in the last year of their degree Medicine from the aforementioned University come to carry out their final practices at the Municipal Hospital.

These internships would be in the specialties of Tocogynecology, Primary Health Care, Surgery and Pediatrics, with a duration of six months.

In this regard, the Secretary of Health, Luis González Estevarena, indicated that students would come to us in August, and that the Municipality will make an effort, since it will provide accommodation and food to said students for a period of 30 weeks.

“This system already works in other municipalities, the Pringlense Municipality is responsible for lodging and food for 30 weeks from August to February. It is also another incentive for professionals here, because they enter the university teaching system” he explained.

He also stated that it is not easy to find a suitable location for the students, since they also have to deal with gender issues and others that must be protected, although they are quite advanced.

“In medicine it is very important to train in practical matters. Residents, concurrents and observers, are in the training stage, therefore they are protected by the system so that these future professionals can be trained,” he clarified.

“Teachers, those who have already made mistakes, those who have already learned from mistakes, must transcend the knowledge of those they train so that medicine is better,” he concluded.
