Several countries have already expressed their repudiation of the military action initiated in Bolivia against the Executive of Luis Arce. Among them stands out the Organization of American States (OAS), which announced that “it will not tolerate any form of violation of the constitutional order” in Bolivia, according to what the secretary general of the organization, Luis Almagro, said this Wednesday (06/26/2024).

“We express our solidarity with President Luis Arce Catacora. The international community, the General Secretariat of the OAS will not tolerate any form of violation of the legitimate constitutional order in Bolivia,” Almagro stated.

On the other hand, the pro tempore president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, called for an “urgent” meeting of the leaders of the countries of the regional organization in the face of the imminent “coup of State” in Bolivia.

Others who have expressed their concern and rejection of what is happening in Bolivia are the high representative for Foreign Affairs of the European Union, Josep Borrell, who pointed out in X that the community of 27 condemns any attempt to break the constitutional order in Bolivia, in addition to expressing solidarity with the government and the Bolivian people.

The leaders and governments of Spain, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Uruguay and Cuba have also done the same, and have expressed unrestricted support for Bolivian democracy and its people.
