He was a renowned doctor from La Plata who stood out in the specialty of Traumatology and Orthopedics, but above all things Roberto Edgardo Lima was appreciated for his humanistic outlook and his respectful treatment, which is why his death motivated heartfelt expressions of regret in different local areas.

He was born on September 2, 1939 in La Plata, his parents were Luis Roberto Lima and Susana Elena Esqueu and he grew up with his siblings Luis, Susana and Enrique. His training took place at the Anexa School, at the National College and at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of La Plata, from which he graduated with important qualifications.

Over time, together with doctors Moreno, Brunatti, Moscato and Franchini, he opened the Institute of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation – ITOR -, located at 47 between 10 and 11, from that center he dedicated himself to sports medicine and rehabilitation. Some of the innovative benefits for the time were the specialty’s on-call duty during the weekends.

Years later he promoted the Olazábal Institute and specialized in upper limb and hand surgery. As a result of his knowledge, he wrote a book and was president of the Argentine Society of Hand Surgery.

Lima always tried to implement actions that improved the well-being of patients, such as when he promoted the outpatient operating room to perform minor surgeries without the need for hospitalization.

At the family level he had three children, Lucas, Ana and Carola, who in turn made him the grandfather of Martina, Galo, Simón, Uma, Lorenzo and Justo.

In his free time he liked to share meetings with his family and friends, whether those from the neighborhood of 45, between 10 and 11 or those from the National School.

He was also a great reader, of topics linked to his specialty and of others that nourished his general culture.

Among his passions was traveling by car. In 1976 he joined Argentina and Venezuela by route; He participated in supporting road touring drivers and was a supporter of the Ford brand. In addition, together with his cousins, he put together collector cars.

Good, supportive, respectful, Roberto Lima was characterized by being the same with everyone, values ​​for which he will undoubtedly be remembered.
