National HIV Testing Day: they invite the community to get a free check

They can be carried out in all health centers and hospitals in the province. The tests, in addition to being free, are voluntary and confidential.

This Thursday, on National HIV Testing Day, the provincial Ministry of Health invites the community to undergo the corresponding tests at any of the 33 Centers for Prevention, Counseling and Testing of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (CEPAT) of San Luis . They assure that the studies are completely free, voluntary and confidential.

Following the implementation of health policies aimed at HIV and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) in 2011, a constant increase was observed in the number of tests performed annually. This examination is essential for early diagnosis, it allows access to appropriate treatments that significantly improve people’s quality of life.

Currently, San Luis has 33 CEPATs distributed throughout the province, located within health centers and hospitals in different areas. The most recent of these spaces was inaugurated in May at the Nogolí Health Center.

These centers not only facilitate the performance of the HIV test, but also provide advice and support from professionals trained in the subject, in the different instances of intervention, raising awareness of the importance of voluntary testing and comprehensive health care. .
