Without going into specific details about the reasons behind this decision, the Mexican chapter of Miss Universe thanked De la Vega for her dedication during her short time in office.
“After a thorough evaluation, It has been determined that a change is necessary in the national leadership of Mexico to continue advancing the mission and vision of the organization in the country… We thank Cynthia de la Vega for the time she was in charge of Miss Universe Mexico,” the statement reads.
The now former director Cynthia de la Vega shared on the same day that His departure is due to discrepancies between changes in the organization and his personal values, pointing out the importance of family values in his life. Without elaborating, he indicated that his decision was considered, highlighting the bases of his philosophy of life.
“It is with deep sadness that I announce the official separation of my position as National Director of Miss Universe Mexico, due to various changes regarding what was originally proposed to me and that They contradict my principles and values”, he expressed.
De la Vega explained that he made the decision after a process of reflection, although he did not delve into details. “I have always believed that family and values are the fundamental pillars of a full and satisfying life,” highlighted the beauty queen from Monterrey.
In contrast, Martha Cristiana has gratefully accepted her new role, emphasizing her commitment to contribution and service, aspects she considers crucial both professionally and personally.
With this change in leadership, Miss Universe Mexico emphasizes its phase of reevaluation and renewal, projecting optimism towards the future under Merino’s new direction.

After the statement shared by the now former national director of the contest, it was her husband, the television host Kike Mayagoitiawho reacted with a message in support of the mother of his two children.
