This Friday, June 7, the United Kingdom is experiencing one of the weddings of the year. The link between Hugh Grosvenor Duke of Westminster, and Olivia Hensonbrings together members of British high society at Chester Cathedral, an event with a royal which Prince William attended on behalf of the British royal house.

The son of King Charles III arrived at the ceremony site aboard a minibus that left him a few meters from the entrance. Without Kate Middletonwho remains away from the media spotlight while undergoing preventive chemotherapy treatment for the cancer he suffers from, the Prince of Wales has avoided the media and has walked the short way to the cathedral with an attitude that has attracted attention.

Head down, thoughtful and with a serious face, Guillermo was one of the first to arrive at the place and he did so in a completely discreet manner, avoiding exposure and interaction with the dozens of curious onlookers who gathered behind the security cordon.

At the end of the ceremony, the Prince of Wales appeared more relaxed and smiling, greeting the public before getting back on the minibus that took him, along with other guests, to the spectacular mansion of the Dukes of Westminster in Eaton Hallwhere the banquet will take place.

The attendance of the heir to the British throne at this wedding is very significant, since the prince has a close relationship with the Duke of Westminster, who is the godson of Charles III and godfather of his first-born son, Prince George.

Prince William also played a very important role in the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster. And he has been assigned the usher roleso he has been in charge of accompanying the more than 400 guests to their respective seats, livening up the path from the entrance and talking with them.

The bond between the couple and Guillermo extends to prince harry, whose son Archie is also godfather Grosvenor. That is why the attendance of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the wedding was expected, but finally Harry and Meghan have chosen not to attend the event to avoid further fueling the controversy, since the relationship between the two children of Charles III and Diana is completely broken.

The link between both families has decades of history, since Grosvenor’s father was private tutor of Charles III, and held the distinctions of Knight of the Order of the Garter, Commander of the Royal Order of Victory and Companion of the Order of the Bath. His mother, Natalia Grosvenor, is Prince William’s godmother and his little sister, Lady Edwin, is the goddaughter of the late Diana of Wales.

As for his ancestors, the Duke of Westminster descends from the Romanovthe now extinct Russian royal house, by Tsar Nicholas I. Also among his ancestors are the Russian writer Alexander Pushkin and his wife Natalia Nifolayevna Goncharova.
