Barcelona, June 16 (EFE).- More than 4,000 exhibitors and distributors from all over the world will meet from tomorrow until next Thursday the 20th at the Barcelona International Convention Center (CCIB) within the framework of the CineEurope convention .
Participants will attend presentations and screenings of new films from Hollywood and European studios, and will also learn about the latest news and technologies for movie theaters, through screenings, talks, seminars and a trade fair.
Produced by Film Expo Group, CineEurope is the official convention of the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC), the international association representing film exhibitors and their national associations in 39 European territories.
The objective of the convention is to promote the social, cultural and economic value of cinemas both in Europe and internationally.
At the CineErupe convention you will also be able to access educational programs with round tables and seminars by sector professionals focused on current trends and what will come in the future.
In this way, there is the opportunity to establish contacts and interact with more than 4,000 associates of the sector, in a fair that only takes place once a year in Europe.
Regarding the recognitions awarded by the convention, Jeffrey Forman, from The Walt Disney Studios, will receive the CineEurope 2024 award for International Distributor of the Year while the Warner Bros company will be awarded for its performance at the box office.
For his part, Nicolas Seydoux, president of the French anti-piracy association, will be recognized with the CineEurope Icon Award, the Belgian company Kinépolis will be awarded the CineEurope Milestone Award 2024 and Morocco will receive the first Guest of Honor Country Award.
Some Hollywood star directors and actors also usually attend CineEurope, who usually appear by surprise throughout the fair. EFE
