For the public, Gerardo Rozin He became a happy and cheerful guy, as if he were a neighbor from the neighborhood or an old school friend; For his colleagues, he was a creative, demanding man and a tireless worker; For the most intimate of him, someone indispensable. “I am from Rosario, I am Jewish, I am from Central Rosary, journalist, producer and dad”, this is how he had defined himself during a first-person interview before a youth court. In that space, Rozín talked about his childhood and reflected on his identity and past: “I am from where I was born”He said.
The driver always spoke well of his native Rosario and how he was raised. He always stressed that he did not come from a wealthy family, but that her parents always fought for her. This Tuesday, June 18, he would have turned 54 years old. and it is worth remembering some moments of his career, which spanned graphic, radio and television journalism.
Being a journalist and producer fascinated him, although through hosting he managed to encompass all his virtues in a single product. But he had an additional advantage that he was able to develop in several of his projects: he was a music fan.
Although he had had a brief participation behind the camera in Rosario Channel 3his strong appearance in the media was in Rosary/12the local newspaper supplement Page 12. There he began to display his journalistic skills and also show great writing ability, taking into account his passion for literature and his use of a broad language.
Quickly, Nicolas Repetto, added it to the project Saturday Bus, a program that aired on Telefe in 1999 and of which Gerardo Rozín was initially the producer. There was a lot of editing work and also inviting guests and choosing topics. “Elena and Pedro, Gerardo’s children, along with their mothers Carmela and Mariana. Every day we think about Gerardo: his absence takes up a lot of space but I also remember him as a true companion. Anniversaries, however, also have weight outside the family,” expressed both women. The connection between the two families remained strong, united by the love and respect they had for Rozín. This bond was essential to face the loss and continue the legacy left by the journalist and host.
Carmela Barbaroex-wife of Gerardo Rozin and mother of his youngest daughter, shared details about the driver’s difficult death and its impact in an interview with Partners of the Show (El Trece), at the beginning of this year. “You think so, that you are preparing… And the truth is that it seems to me that there is no way. And also you can’t know what comes next, how life suits you or not,” Bárbaro said with total sincerity.
Reflecting on the abrupt death of his ex-partner, Bárbaro expressed: “I can tell you today that my daughter (Elena) is fine and that they were very difficult years, with a lot of work, a lot of dedication, and a lot of personal renunciation as well.” Despite her challenges, she is proud of what she accomplished, although she admits it was a very hard process. “I was 51 years old, my daughter was 11. I have a smaller baby. And fears appear, problems appear”he added.
Bárbaro remembered how Rozín called her every night at 12, a routine that became a significant emotional burden. “First we laughed a lot, and then we ended up talking about death, about the things he wanted when he died and he asked me to write it down,” she said excitedly.
The intensity of these conversations deeply affected Bárbaro. “I ended up crying sometimes until 5 in the morning and I remember that I talked to my analyst about this and to my friends, and I decided to talk to Gerardo to tell him that I couldn’t bear this because it left me broken every night,” she concluded.
On this occasion, two years after Gerardo’s death, Carmela spoke with Teleshow and told how they are going through this anniversary as a family. “In general, with joy. These are difficult dates, we try to be with family. We keep it in mind every day. There is always some anecdote that we share. He would be very proud of his children. I believe that from somewhere he is accompanying us,” said the journalist. Then, she referred to his upcoming projects. “I’m going to take my daughter to see the snow, which is a pending account. “They both preferred the cold,” she recalled about her ex-partner and the father of her daughter.
The producer’s last relationship was with the announcer Eugenia Quibel.
