We have finally returned to the Seven Kingdoms with the second season of The dragon house, premiered on Max on June 17. The new installment of the prequel to Game of Thrones, born from the novels of George R.R. Martin, addresses the civil war between the Targaryens for the Iron Throne.
The end of the first season set the pieces for the Dance of Dragons, with Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) looking for allies after the death of Viserys (Paddy Considine). In the last episode, Rhaenyra, the rightful heir, sent her son Lucerys Velaryon (Elliot Grihault) to Storm’s End to ensure the loyalty of House Baratheon.
The young man engaged in a confrontation with Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) on the back of his dragons, but both lost control of their winged beasts and Vhagar, Aemond’s creature, ended up devouring their opponents. The death of Lucerys at the hands of her uncle marked the first murder between the Greens and the Blacks, triggering what promises to be the bloodiest and most violent war within the Targaryen line.
As readers of Fire and blood, the book on which the series is based, this second season the conflict will bring new characters to the Seven Kingdoms, among them a Stark who will play a fundamental role in the battle. Taylor is not the only addition in the second season of The dragon house, which also features Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne. Who is Cregan Stark?

At the end of the first season, while Lucerys was heading to Storm’s End, her older brother Jaecerys flew to the Vale of Arryn and the North to secure the support of Jeyne Arryn and Cregan Stark in the war. Thanks to Fire and blood We know that Jace manages to strengthen alliances with both Jeyne and Cregan Stark, with whom he forges a close friendship.
When Jace meets Cregan on the pages, he too has had to fight for his place at the helm of Winterfell. At 21 years old, he has just been widowed by his first wife (Lady Arra Norrey) and has been in command of him for three years as Guardian of the North after rebelling against his uncle. In this context, his bond with Jace is born, with whom he hunts, drinks and trains before swearing in blood for his brotherhood.
According to Grand Master Munkun in his true story, The affinity between the two may also be due to the fact that Cregan sees in Jace a brother that he lost a few years before and would have been the same age as the young Velaryon at that time. Rhaenyra’s son and Cregan will reach an agreement in what is known as the pact of Ice and Fire, in which Jacaerys gives his word to marry his first daughter to Cregan’s son. The skilled and intimidating swordsman, for his part, will help the Targaryens together with his Winter Wolves to win key battles in their fight for the Iron Throne.
Right at the end of the Dance of the Dragons, Cregan will play a pivotal role in the accession of Aegon III, son of Rhaenyra, to the throne. Having gained control of King’s Landing, Cregan will lead the war to a close, putting traitors on trial, including those who poisoned King Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney), and facilitating the arrival of Aegon III.
Thus, we are faced with the Stark who will determine with his army the future of the Dance of the Dragons and who will briefly rule as Hand in King’s Landing.
