lMexican actress Florinda Meza, known for her iconic role as Doña Florinda in El Chavo del 8 announced that he will undertake a legal battle against the children of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, better known as “Chespirito.”

The dispute arises around the rights to the name and life of the famous comedian, who died on November 28, 2014 at the age of 85, after battling Parkinson’s, according to the entertainment media Notistarz.

According to the actress, Gómez Bolaños did not leave a formal will. Contrary to this, it had emerged that he designated his son Roberto Gómez Fernández as the sole heir of his works, characters, brands and logos, valued at 700 million dollars.

Florinda Meza, for her part, would have received property, a bank account, cash, costumes for various characters and rights to perform “La Chimoltrufia” and two literary works.

However, he maintained that Gómez Bolaños did not designate any heir to the rights to his name and his life, a situation that he has decided to clarify through a legal process.

“He did not leave his name, his life, his personality in his will, he did not testify them,” he explained in an interview with journalist Maxine Woodside. “So, a process should be carried out, I suppose, before a notary, and in this case, it would be between seven, the six children and me.”

The actress, who shared more than four decades with Gómez Bolaños, pointed out that she still does not know when this legal process will begin.
