Alberto Cormillot and his collaborators starred in a spicy moment in the program Matter of weightbroadcast last Monday in The thirteen. During a discussion about the participants’ request for special diets, the nutritionists expressed opposing opinions, generating a heated atmosphere even with the physical trainer, Sergio Verón.
The incident began when a report was filed regarding a participant’s case, Ernesto, known as El Gaucho, who requested a special diet due to difficulties reaching the necessary weigh-in to avoid his elimination. So, the driver of the cycle, Mario Massaccesi He began the exchange of opinions by asking the experts if they were authorized to grant a special diet in such circumstances.
The nutritionist Alberto Cormillot responded that, although in practice it is sometimes granted, generally the request is due to a prior mental process. “It is not that it appears from one moment to the next, but it is something that is being worked on in the head and at a given moment there is a straw that breaks the camel’s back. So there that person says ‘well, I need something’, but possibly he didn’t do something well before, there was a mistake before so that he reaches a moment of desperation. There was something before that he did not prepare for that moment not to come,” he explained.
To this, his wife, Stephanie Pasquini, added that he usually requests advance information about the evolution of the participants. “I’ll ask over the weekend to see how they come and so on and you can write to me.. So, when nothing appeared over the weekend it makes you kind of a noise, they may or may not be going super well. You can ask for it, because in the face of desperation, and what scares me, and I always tell them, someone can put a diet, some alternative into the eating plan and have help if they are bloated or whatever, but it is not a rescue from one day to the next,” he stated.
Immediately afterwards, Verón crossed the nutritionist: “If you go to the doctor and ask for medication to lower your blood pressure, and the doctor gives it to you and you take it, why would you ask for another medication for the same thing? If you go to the nutritionist who gave you a food plan to lose weight, why are you going to ask for another food plan? “You are asking for more of the same, if you already have it.”
In the midst of the tumult that arose in the studio, Pasquini clarified: “When they come and ask for a diet, desperate, at the last minute, they want something that is like magic”, which again led Verón to question his partner’s words. It was then that Cormillot highlighted that not everything is so rigid and that there are exceptions. For his wife, “it’s good that it’s whitened, ‘I’m having a long weekend and it’s taking a lot out of me’, because it’s normal on long weekends, with family events and well, we’ll see how you’re doing.”
When giving the floor to Alberto Cormillot again, the doctor was spicy with his comment. “I’m not going to argue with the landlady,” he said between laughs, and she didn’t stay silent. “I was going to tell you that when we get home we’ll talk,” she shot, to the laughter of everyone present in the studio, while the driver highlighted her words in a funny way.
