Martín, known for hits such as “My Lover Friend,” “Complicity” and “You Have Lost Who I Am,” debuted in 2006 with the album Water under EMI Music. In 2009 she signed with Warner Music Spain, releasing seven albums with the label, including Traps, Skin Issue and Seven Times Yes.

Each album has been a fundamental piece in the construction of a solid and respected career that also includes collaborations with colleagues such as Malú, Pablo Alborán and Manuel Medrano. Now, the artist hopes to continue expanding her repertoire in partnership with Universal Music Spain.

“We began a path together with a renewed and strong energy, where the love for making music, my identity, passion, work and determination row hand in hand towards the same goal that excites and nourishes me,” said Martín in a press release. “My membrane is porous. From today we are a team that goes out to play with everything in the world. Always grateful to all the people who have accompanied me along the way.”

“We have enormous admiration for Vanesa’s work and being able to collaborate with her on her upcoming artistic projects is a responsibility and a joy for all of us,” added Jesús López, chairman/CEO of Universal Music Latin America, Spain & Portugal.

During the signing, in addition to López, Narcís Rebollo, president of Universal Music Spain and Portugal; Alicia Arauzo, general director of Universal Music Spain; and the artist’s managers, Ana Blanco and Rosa Lagarrigue.

Spanish Billboard has sent a request for more details to the label.
