While Christina Applegate is going through her own battle with multiple sclerosis, Daughter Sadie, 13, revealed she recently received a life-changing diagnosis. The daughter of the star of the original version of Married with children sHe addressed his new medical condition on the podcast MeSsy, from his mother.
“I have something called POTS,” Sadie shared. And he added: “I have no idea what it really is, but It has something to do with the autonomic nervous system and affects my heart. When I get up, I get very dizzy and my legs get very weak and I feel like I’m going to faint.”.
That pathology, which is also known as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, is, in effect, a chronic disorder that affects the autonomic nervous system and blood circulation. According to statistics, it is more common among women between 15 and 50 years old. People who suffer from it experience a rapid increase in heart rate when standing up from sitting or lying down. Symptoms may also include lightheadedness, mental confusion, fatigue, exercise intolerance, headache, blurred vision, palpitations, tremors, nausea and fainting.
During the episode, Sadie explained that she has been experiencing the symptoms for a long time, but that many times, when she spoke out, she felt left without support. “I hate that you went through that and that you are going through this now. I really hate it,” Applegate replied, deeply moved.I’m sad. But I love you and I know you’re going to be okay. And I’m here for you and I believe you. Thank you for bringing this to light and awareness.”he added.
Sadie, the daughter Applegate had with her husband, Martyn LeNoble, recalled skipping her sixth-grade classes and visiting the nurse’s office several times a day. “I always felt like I was going to faint,” she explained. “In class, if I stood up, I’d say, ‘I have to go to the nurse’s office.’ And if I was in P.E., too,” she recalled.They were like, ‘You’re doing this to get out of class.’ It’s probably just anxiety. Go back to class.’ They didn’t do anything for me and they didn’t believe me.”, he indicated.
“The fact that they didn’t do anything about it definitely hurt me physically and emotionally.”he continued. “Because I thought, ‘This is rude and I feel bad and you tell me to go to PE and run laps around the football field.’ I can not do this'”.
Applegate, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, said she also underestimated her daughter’s symptoms because she was unaware of the disease’s existence. “She wears layers of clothing on 90-degree days and hates gym,” the actress explained. “So, I thought, ‘Well, I felt that way, too.'” Now I feel so horrible for not paying attention to it. I just didn’t see it at home, honey. At home you were fine“, he pointed.
She explained: “That’s how it works for us. We go out into the world, and the stress and anxiety of the world makes our symptoms much stronger than if we were in the safety and warmth of our own homes.”
Despite the debilitating symptoms, Sadie explained that her diagnosis has made it easier for her to understand her mother’s situation. “When she says to me, ‘Oh, I’m in a little bit of pain right now.’ Oh, I’m having the shakes.’ If she didn’t have this, she would probably say, ‘I don’t really care.’ I don’t know what you’re talking about.'” she said.
Earlier this month, during a chat with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, his partner on the podcast MeSsyApplegate acknowledged that she suffers from “real depression” as a result of the diagnosis, and that she currently feels little will to live.I’m going through depression right now, something I don’t think I’ve felt in years.“, revealed.
“It’s a real depression that scares me a little, because I feel fatalistic. “I’m trapped in a darkness that I haven’t felt in a long time, probably the last 20 years,” she continued. “To be very honest… I’m not enjoying living,” she confessed dramatically. “I don’t enjoy life anymore, I don’t enjoy anything lately”he added.
It was in August 2021 that the actress shared with the world the harsh diagnosis she had received some time before. “It’s been a strange journey. But I’ve received so much support from people who I know also have this condition. It’s been a difficult road. But as we all know, the road goes on. Unless some moron blocks it.
