The event, scheduled until next Saturday at the Hotel Nacional, has the presence of specialists from Latin America, Europe and the host country to discuss pediatric and adult reconstructive urological surgery, the organizing committee informed Prensa Latina.

Delegates will also reflect on oncology, developments in surgical techniques, current events in the treatment of urinary stones and aspects related to sexual and reproductive health, among others.

Prior to the conclave, courses covering topics such as urological conditions in women, scientific research and dissemination of study results and complex urethral surgery were taught, said the president of the organizing committee, Tania González, at a press conference.

This first day includes conferences on reconstructive surgery in pediatric patients, plastic surgery of the urethra, urological reconstruction, and oncological diseases of the urinary tract, reported the president of the scientific committee, Mariano Castillo.

According to the vice president of the Cuban Society of Urology, with the chosen topics and the quality of the national and foreign speakers, the objective of the congress will be achieved, which is the scientific updating of Cuban urologists.
