Two people were injured after a collision between a truck and a motorcycle this Thursday morning, on a busy street in the city of Santiago de Cuba.

Witnesses of accident They said that a vehicle from the Electric Company hit an engine that presumably took away the “Stop” sign, on San Francisco Street between San Félix and San Pedro, in the eastern city, reported journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada.

The communicator reported that the driver of the motorcycle and the passenger were treated at a hospital facility, and added that this last person was “the one who received the most impact” in the traffic accident.

“Until this moment, the details of the injured people and their state of health are not known,” said Mayeta.

In the comments of his publication, the young man who was traveling as a passenger on the motorcycle identified himself, Carlos Daniel Pico Aldanawho stated that “at the moment (it was) full of bumps as if he had collided with a truck,” but “everything is fine.”

He said they were treated at the Military Hospital. “There I left the driver also hit by the impact. I don’t know how to tell you his condition right now, but this morning we were both beaten and sore,” he explained.

Mayeta’s note identifies the intersection where the incident occurred – San Francisco and San Félix – as one of those that register more unfortunate accidents.

In the comments, a Cuban woman agreed with the journalist’s statement: “My house is in the middle of the block and historically that corner is like that. “Many irresponsible people take away the San Félix wall, which is one of the most dangerous in the city.”

“That stop is super dangerous because, due to the inclination there is and how narrow the intersection is, there is very little visibility and you have to stick your nose out little by little,” said another.

Another woman lamented: “All those intersections that go out to San Francisco have claimed more than one life, it’s very sad.”

A young man from Santiago de Cuba maintained that San Francisco Street is the most dangerous in Santiago de Cuba, “no street even remotely comes close to it when it comes to accidents and danger”; and he added that the intersection of this road with Calvario “is the most dangerous corner in the entire city, with records of unfortunate accidents every year.”

Recently another accident claimed the life of a young motorcyclist from Santiagowhom family, friends and acquaintances said goodbye with a caravan of motorcycles.

A truck collided this Wednesday with a Yutong bus on the La Farola highwayin the province of Guantánamo, leaving several injured.
