The boxing limit of preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, between the Cuban and French squads, increases with the celebration of an eighth fight, all scheduled for April 5, at the Hotel Brisas del Caribe, in Varadero .

The additional fight will take place in the 57 kilogram division, between the Guantanamo-born Rolando Martínez and the 2021 world bronze medalist, the Frenchman Samuel Kistohurry. The Antillean is one of the young fighters that make up the national preselection and has an interesting future, since he is a boxer with good technical mastery.

The decision to incorporate one more fight is due to the fact that the French have not decided who will represent them in the summer event in that category. The other duel in the 57 will be between Cienfuegos native Saidel Horta and the current European sub-title, Lounes Hanraou.

In addition, in the tourist complex itself, on April 4, a preparation match will be held between several Cuban fighters and international rivals, the latter in search of qualification for Paris-2024.

The two-time national champion of the 86 kilos, Nelson Williams, will face the Belgian Víctor Ilunga, in the 92 kg. The Cuban Yoana Rodríguez (75 kg) will face the Panamanian Atheyna Bibeishi. Matanzas Leonel Pedroso (80) and Julio Collazo (67) will meet Brice Romaric (Burkina Faso) and Hugo Robert Grau (France), respectively.

A couple of fights between foreign fighters will take place on the day. The Portuguese Bruno Fernández will have a duel with the Japanese Swarete Quincy, at 71 kg. Another Japanese, Shudai Harada will compete against the Belgian Vasile Usturot (57 kg).
