This Tuesday, at the Bus Terminal of the city of Santa Fe, the Secretary of Institutional Management of the Ministry of Justice and Security, Virginia Coudannes, presented the new operations, within the framework of the Targeted Neighborhood Intervention (IBF) program, which will be carried out the provincial government, through different areas, in conjunction with the local municipality. Coudannes thanked the joint work being done by the province, the Municipality, the Public Prosecutor’s Office together with the IBF coordinator, José Felice: “It is an enormous job since the beginning of the administration. On December 11, our governor said that they were going to intervene in four neighborhoods of the city, we are already in the second to four months of the administration.”

The official expressed that “today there is intervention in the macrocenter, in the terminal area. Here there are high rates of predatory crimes, crimes against property, robberies and attempted robberies. So we understand that we have to intervene, but not only from Justice and Security, but also incorporate other areas that have to do with public space, which has to do with the control of hotels, businesses, and with the support of incentive policies. for the economic-productive development of the city.”

In that sense, Coudannes maintained that “this intervention incorporated the perspective of the economic-productive sector,” and said that “on Friday we had a meeting with merchants, with gastronomics, with hoteliers, with neighborhood institutions, because we understand that together we all We look at how to improve environments, how to make them friendlier, safer and with better and greater coexistence.”

Finally, he said that “the operational area today is a quadrant that has to do with San Jerónimo, Marcial Candioti, Juan Del Campillo, Mariano Comas streets and towards the south to Tucumán. This is one of the focused areas. Then we will go covering other areas”.

Then, the Undersecretary of Municipal Control and Security, Sebastián Mastropaolo, acknowledged that “after the first experience, which has been very positive, we were looking forward to this second intervention because we need to improve this area that has us very concerned about the rates.” that we have”, and valued “this type of actions as a whole. For his part, the regional prosecutor of Santa Fe, Jorge Nessier, stated that “when the State withdraws, criminal organizations occupy that vacant place. “Today we begin a new process of focused neighborhood intervention, providing support to address the final persecution through specific axes that intervene in situations of highly harmful violence, with special attention to the victims of criminal acts.”
