Security Council in Támara addresses problems in the North of Casanare.

Given the recent fighting between the Armed Forces and the FARC Dissidents in the north of Casanare, a security council was held in the municipality of Támara. The meeting, called by Mayor William Forero, included the participation of the governor César Ortiz Zorro and the leaders of the security forces at the departmental level.

Various measures were agreed to strengthen security in the region:

– The construction of a Police station in Támara will be managed, with the Government in charge of the resources.

– A reward of up to 50 million pesos will be offered for information about those responsible for the recent attacks.

– The Casanare Air Group will intensify patrols throughout the department.

– The National Army and the Police will reinforce their presence on the main roads of the municipality.

– Additional protection measures will be implemented for Mayor William Forero.

– The force in the municipality will be increased once the necessary incorporations and transfers are made.

– A review will be requested of the transfer of the current military base on Santa Bárbara Hill to turn it into a tourist site.

These actions seek to guarantee security and order in Casanare Norte, in collaboration between local and regional authorities.
