Tech Talentan advanced free education program in the latest information technologies, data analysis, blockchainand artificial intelligence, which seeks to convert Colombia and Cauca in a digital power, was presented this Wednesday afternoon, by the Vice Minister of Digital Transformation, Fabio Garcia and the expert María Lucía Flórez, Director of Digital Economy of the Ministrybefore the crowded (mostly high school students) main auditorium of the Convention Center, Casa de la Moneda, in Popayán.

After the presentation of a short film about the documentary “Fireplace, passion and flavor”, directed by Marco Paredes Manzano and financed with resources from the MINTIC, delegates from the ministry explained the characteristics of the Talento Tech program, which seeks to train young people, adults and seniors to develop their own computer programming systems and apply them to their personal growth and their own companies. .

Talento Tech was initially presented by MINTIC in Bogotá, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Nariño and Cauca and will be extended to the entire country with an investment of half a billion pesosof which, in 2024, in Cauca, they will invest $6,000 million to complement in 2026, with $14,000 million, as announced by María Lucía Flórez. “Training in digital education ensures that we will have a more competitive productive sector,” added the official.

Talento Tech is developed with a highly practical component to learn by doing in accelerated courses of various levels, with duration of 159 hours, 10 hours per week, spread over 4 months.

To the “technology camps” will be able to access over 18 years that they will take an exam, not to exclude them but to place them in one of the three levels. It consists of three modules: Tinformation technology, digital education and innovation ecosystems and a technical English course.

In that sense, good quality free classes will be in person and also virtual, combined with some practices in the Cooperative University of colombiaPopayán headquarters.

“Just because they are free doesn’t mean they are of poor quality. We need them to register, register and take the exam not to rule them out but to place them in one of the three levels: initial, intermediate and advanced levels. The only requirement is that they have a desire to learn and perseverance so that they finish and take advantage of the camps,” expressed Fabio García.

The Technological University of Pereira will be in charge of coordinating the program in Cauca, with the collaboration of the SIGN and in Popayán, with the municipal mayor’s office, which has just reactivated the center “Live Digital” which was abandoned in the Carlos Albán Technology Park, recovering its physical plant and providing it with 33 computersAccording to the mayor Juan Carlos Muñoz Bravo.
