The state rejected the provincial government’s proposal

The state unions rejected the proposal of the administration of Governor Martín Llaryora in the joint discussion, and declared themselves in a state of “alert and mobilization.”

The Province offered an increase of 8.5% for the month of April, while the unions demand the total inflation that was measured in March, in Córdoba, that is, 11%, as reported The voice.

The negotiation strategy of the Government of Córdoba was similar to that of the first quarter of the year, when they agreed to pay half of the inflation index, plus fixed sums for the lowest categories: 40 thousand pesos in January and February, and 50 thousand pesos in March , which are added to the basic one in April salaries.

They are now discussing increases for the April-June quarter. The Province, represented in the negotiation by the Secretary General of the Interior, David Consalvi, but also with the participation of the ministers Manuel Calvo (Government) and Guillermo Acosta (Finance), offered a plan similar to that for the first quarter, but now The unions demand to collect the full amount of inflation.

The head of the Public Employees Union (SEP), Sergio Castro, showed his discontent, after a meeting that took place at the Civic Center.

“The unions collaborated in the first quarter, when we signed an agreement that was far from our expectations. In the first three months of the year, public salaries in Córdoba lost 27%, in relation to inflation. It is time for the provincial government to recognize the efforts of state workers,” Castro said.

For its part, the union of provincial hierarchies (Superior Personal Union), led by Domingo Ovando, is negotiating on the other hand, with the Province. Although he has not yet accepted the offer for April from the Civic Center.

The UEPC (teachers) do not participate in this joint discussion, since last month they agreed until May 31, when the Province took charge of paying the National Teacher Incentive Fund (Fonid), which was sent by the national government, but which President Javier Milei eliminated it with his adjustment policy.

Concern about Apross

In addition to the percentage difference in the increase offered, 8.5% offered by the Province, and the 11% demanded by the unions, there is another issue that fuels the joint discussion: discounts for state social work (Apross).

Cordoba public employees had already been paying a Fund for Catastrophic Illnesses, but in this Llaryorist management another was added, the Chronic Diseases Fund (Fosaet), which between the two adds up to 12 thousand pesos for each Apross card.

In the discussion about discounts for Apross, the UECP does participate, since teachers contribute to the state social work.

The Fosaet had been suspended last month, but the Province decided to restore this fund, starting next May 1. This generated a claim from the unions, at the joint negotiation table, who demanded that it be suspended for 120 days, until an alternative for this contribution was found.

Apross has a deficit of more than 3,000 million pesos per month. Precisely, with the Fosaet that this Government created, this financial red is covered.

Governor Llaryora’s decision is that the deficit in the provincial social work be covered by members and retirees. While the unions maintain that this red be covered by the provincial Treasury.
