Placetas, April 26 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, visits the socio-economic objectives of the Villa Clara municipality of Placetas this Friday afternoon.
Accompanied by Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, he began the tour of the experience of the Productive Political Movement “Young Guerrillas”, made up of men who work the land at km 302 of the National Highway.
There he spoke with the producer Yaniel Negrín Alberto, pig farmer, veguero and harvester of various crops. The man from Placeta explained to the president that he tends to 24 hectares, of which 17 are planted: 4.5 hectares of tobacco and the rest of cassava, sweet potato, corn, pumpkin, melon and cucumber.
He also exchanged with Yusney Puentes Pérez, director of the Benito Juárez Agricultural Company, who presented the main indicators for 2023 in terms of the production of milk, meat and various crops, as well as the accounting results for the first quarter of this year.
“Here there are 1,134 hectares in different workforce management models: usufructuaries, owners and labor groups. “600 hectares of marabou have been broken down, of which 320 are destined for various crops and the rest for livestock,” he explained.
Later, Díaz-Canel arrived at the “Cubanacán” Dairy Products Company in Placetas, an entity that today has non-compliance with its production plan due to the lack of soybeans. However, there are no economic losses since they have made up for these shortcomings with the production of alternative products such as fruit juices and butter, among other assortments, according to María Caridad Fernández, director of the entity.
The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Party will also visit the Municipal Company of Commerce and Gastronomy, which also does not meet the expected sales so far this year.
Some time later he will arrive at the Local Development Project “Youth Club” and finally, he will hold a meeting at the local government headquarters.
