The incident was reported by independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, who shared a video of Directorate of Intelligence (DTI) officers taking the subject away in handcuffs, while several residents of the area watch curiously from a distance.

According to the communicator, the first versions that reached him said that the subject had tried to steal a cell phone, while others assured that it was someone who had tried to steal a purse, however, the truth is that it was a much more serious crime. serious.

“I have received two images where the town captured a man, who first said he snatched a phone and then that it was a wallet, something that is not true,” the publication reads.

The complaint claims that these versions would have been shared so that the people would participate in the persecution of the criminal, which ended up working.

“These first versions were thrown into the town, so that the same people could capture him, since he was fleeing in some streets in the center of the City of Santiago de Cuba,” he added.

The publication claims that the subject tried to escape by jumping between the roofs, but ended up being detained by the neighbors after he went down to the streets again.
